The Balcombe Estate Forestry & Sawmill are keen to work with smaller estate and woodland owners to help manage their woods and bring their harvested woodland products to market.
We are pleased to offer a mechanical harvesting and extraction service using our tracked harvesting machine equipped with a keto harvesting head.
By working with groups of owners in the region we will improve the options for timber sales whilst reducing the costs of harvesting and thus bring previously neglected woodlands back into management. This management will help improve not only the woodland access and wildlife habitats but supply an income from the woodlands.
Our operators are mindful of the sensitivities of multi-objective woodlands and take care to preserve woodland habitat, rides, archaeology and sporting interests.
We are also happy to process both softwood and hardwood sawlog material through our own sawmill; either on the client’s behalf or by purchasing round timber from the owners at realistic market values.
We are also able to offer a woodfuel chipping service for those clients with biomass boilers.
